A Love Letter to People of Color

To my Friends of Color and to all People of Color,

You are hurting in this world. Not just today, not just last month, but every minute of every hour of every day. Terrible things are happening to your people and yet, my day goes unchanged. Nothing in my life stops, no one in my family is stopped, my heart does not stop. The White Man have ripped the ground from underneath your feet and yet, you never asked to be on this ground. They are the most fearful and the most violent and yet, violence will never cure their fear.

I feel powerless but it is not about me. My heart is so heavy but my skin is not black. I am angry at this country but I do not navigate this country with fear. I hope to build empathy for you, yet I will never be able to empathize with you.

And So,

I offer my awareness - I recognize you are suffering.

I offer my attention - I am listening to you.

I offer my support - I support you.

I offer my love - I love you.

And Also,

This is not about me. This is not about my life.

This is not about all lives. This is about Black Lives.

Capital B, capital L.

Black Lives matter

YOUR Black Life, matters.
